Happy New Year
Home visiting?? Yes, it is. They are my group member and the granny is the patient assigned to us. In this semester, we have a module called Comprehensive Health Care that requires us not merely to seek the medical problem of the patient, also the psychosocioeconomy aspect of the patient. This module has no theory paper and thus, the marks given is totally based on the presentation and report. In fact, it is a fairly easy module but it turns out to be an exciting assignment for my group.
In the first visit, when the granny was still in the hospital, the doctor in charged asked us to take her as the subject of our presentation. We found this old lady was very friendly and talkative so we had no problem in clerking her history. Besides, she was also very cooperative because she allowed us to visit her house after she was discharged. She gave her daughters' phone so that we could make an appointment with them. At that moment, we were very grateful for having such a good patient.
Everything ran smoothly till the day I called to her elder daughter. I was in shock when her daughter rejected us to have a home visit. How could it be?? I told her that the nenek agreed with us during the first visit. Surprisingly, she told us that her mother didn't want to meet anyone because she was lazy and tired. At the same time, she also gave many excuses like she was busy with her children and household chores. Although I had tried to persuade her, she still stood firm at her ground and asked us to take another patient as our subject. She said there are thousands of patient in hospital and thus, there is no reason in insisting on her mother as the subject. She never know that we had already done half of our work and it was quite impossible for us to start everything all over again. Without the photo for home visit, the presentation and report will be given a low mark because it is not complete. This made us worried so much and we started blaming the nenek for being a hypocrite as she welcomed us initially but changed her mind (like a girl changes her clothes) later.
After discussing with the group members and my doctor, we decided to try our luck to "attack" her house. We planned to visit her house without making any appointment. On that day, we brought some fruits and stood in front of her house hoping they would show their mercies by letting us in. Fortunately, they were at home as we were fear of we would meet no one there if they all went out. There was a girl in the living room and I asked the girl to called her mother so that I could beg her mother to give us the permission to enter. We waited patiently for a couple of minutes and finally, the nenek walked out from the back of the house and kindly invited us to enter the house. I was wondering. Yes, again the nenek was friendly and cooperative as she was in the first visit in hospital. It was total contradictory to what her daughter had told. She also allowed us to take photo at her and also in the house where it was necessary. I was informed that the daughter was in the room, yet she did not come out to meet us throughout the visit. After an hour, we asked for leave as we were afraid of the nenek was tired but the nenek held us for another 30 minutes. She seemed very happy that somebody visited her. Thus, I could see that it was her daughter who created a story not letting us come and now she kept hiding in the room since we had revealed the fact she was lying.
Complication of Diabetes Melitus
On the way back, one of my group member, Ana told me that the nenek's daughter gave her a call but she did not dare to answer the call. As the group leader, I had no choice but to call her back and find out what she wanted to tell me. I was expecting something bad from her. Indeed, she answered my call and gave a "lesson" to me. She was accusing me for entering her house without making appointment and taking photo in her house without her permission. Sweat. Furthermore, she scolded me for being so tacticful by cheating them like this and so rude. I was too lazy to explain to her unreasonable complaints because it was the nenek who invited us into the house and if she did not want us it, why didn't she stop us at the very beginning? If she did, I would never step my foot into her house as I might be held in the lockup for intruding other house. But, luckily she did not or otherwise I would not have my photos for the project.
The more she scolded, the louder her voice till everyone in the car could listen to her without speaker (I was nearly deaf that time even though I put the hand phone away from my ears). In the end, she asked for the number of my doctor in charged and she swore she would bring the case forward to my doctor. Haih.. What a noisy woman. However, I was not worried at all as the doctor reassured me that I was at the right side and most important, I obtained the the things for my project. Blek.... :-P
Ok la.. It is already 7 pm.. I got to pack my things back to setapak..
This is the elderly remix version of "I kissed a girl" by Katy Perry.. I found it is funny but some of my friends claimed that it is disgusting... Rate yourself after watching.. MUST WATCH ah!!

Meaningful See-Saw

One's life is something like walking on the see-saw....

Start walking from the lower side and toward to the higher side..
And each subsequent step will become more difficult to be taken...

The higher you go, the tougher you find the balancing point...

When you are thinking that you are going higher and higher,
in fact you are going down the slope without knowing it....

Soon you will realise that you could never reach the highest point that you see....

Thereby, you struggle yourself by making a few turns on the see-saw..
You notice that it is a difficult task to reach the peak..
It is due to you are unable to find the balancing point all the while...

Finally, you understand that the peak is actually reached when you are able to locate the balancing point of your life...

However, you may reach the higher side if you have a strong support from your beloved family, lover or the enemy that you have got rid of...
My friend, ah xiang sent me these via email a few weeks ago and I found it very thought provoking and thus, would like share with you all here.
Again, today is the last day of my one and a half week of holidays. I had been to Pahang for community service and Malacca for sight seeing in this holidays. Thousands of photos will be uploaded here after I finished collecting them from my friends' camera. Please be patient. For the time being, I put 2 photos here first to reduce the thirst of my fans who tak sabar sabar wanna see them... hahaha..

Exam
For those who know me long enough, they know that Chu Chun Hong is always confident at his academic achievement (except English-lah). Sadly, my confidence level is getting worse and worse each day now. I notice that I did not perform as well as I've done previously especially in this end semester exam. The effort that I have put was not reduced and yet the result yielded is below my satisfaction. Although the result is not out yet, I can roughly expect the grade I got. I feel challenged now. First, exam questions now are not asking about the correct answer but the BEST answer (it means the choices are all correct with minimal difference between them). Besides, luck does not help me much anymore. Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) normally consists of 4-5 options right?? Well, here I experience the "TRUE" MCQ which consists of 10 options and hence, there is only 10% of chance to guess the answer correctly. It is the matter of either you know or don't know. No more guessing. Haih.. T.T
Perhaps, it is time for me to review back my study methods and strategies. Otherwise, my glorious days will definitely become past tense and will not come back to me anymore. Study strategy are always dynamic. Thus, different approaches are needed for different stages of study. Critical thinking and strong memory as well as thoughtfulness play a major role here. The most important is I am clear that keep groaning is not the solution and I have to figure out some ways to improve as soon as possible so that I can move on in my studies.
(Feel like I am writing a reflective essay in Personal and Professional development Module and sorry for this boring post but I really need some self-motivation here.. =.=)
As usual, I end my post with a song and this song together with the effect of caffeine always make me shake my body while I am tired throughout the exam week.
Shake it, by Metro Station

Grandbuddy, Buddy and Me
I reached there half an hour earlier and she appeared in front of me with a shrunk blouse as her top and jeans as her bottom at sharp 12 pm. First thing she told me was Jian Yang will be late and I thought he might not turn up again. ~~!!. We both went into the room and started first while waiting for his arrival. She sang many songs that I rarely listened before and same thing happened in the songs I sang. Half an hour later, Jian Yang came and joined us. He came all the way from HUKM with his heavy bag containing laptop. His first impression to me was a nerdy, quiet and boring guy (sorry-la, I know it is not good to judge people by their looks but I just can't help it).
Caryn sang very well and surprisingly, Jian Yang sang even much better. I think he has high chance to win in Astro Talent Quest if he joined. I was so "paiseh" there for being the worst. I think I have to apologise here for torturing their ears with my terrible voice. After she foot the bill (thanks yo for treating me ^^), we went to Times Square to buy birthday present for my friend and her friend. Since the food served in Green Box did not make us full, we grabbed some food again at Old Town and this time I was treated by Jian Yang. Thanks again. ^^. He is totally the reverse as what I had thought of him. He is quite friendly, talkative and always trying to makes fun with us although some of the jokes are quite "cold". Thus, don't ever judge a book by its cover.
Honestly, I rarely listen to Mandarin songs recently so it took me very long to choose a song to sing and I couldn't sing together with them because I am not really familiar with their new songs. Ok la... I got to continue with my study and hopefully I won't waste my study weeks on chatting nonsense in msn or watching TV.
My favourite song currently, The Man That Cant Be Moved by The Script

When Holidays End
Damn "ng sek tuck" (miss) my air conditioned room, mama home cooked food, deskstop with internet access, television with astro channel and everything in my home here. I think everyone is having the same feelings too, right? Haha, 'post-holidays' syndrome...
Before the 1-week Raya holidays, I have planned to finished my lecture notes of urinary system and revise the whole module of cardiovascular system. In the end, I found that I was very unproductive and only managed to do half of them. But I am still grateful than at least my achievement in this holidays is better than the previous mid sem break when i just kept chasing Hong Kong drama...
Next week will be a very hectic week. One formative assessment on friday, 2 clinical skill sessions on tuesday and thursday respectively, numerous practicals and lectures are waiting for me. Fainted. @@
I won't be blogging here for the next whole week as I am the only person out of 227 students in my course who does not possess a laptop. Many of my coursemates were surprised and thought I was trying to joke (it's not funny at all) when I told them I do not have a laptop. They asked me why I don't buy it as everyone owns it. But for me, why should I buy something I don't really need although it is in everyone's hands? A laptop is not a must for medical students (of course, it does help a lot). Some may become low self-esteemed due to not owning somethings that commonly owned by ohers but I am the reverse. I am proud of saying out what I don't have. Proud of not possessing. Proud of NOT BEING INFLUENCED!! Same case goes to my cell phone which only can call and sms while others have camera, recording, bluetooth and many more functions that I don't know. Haha. I am kinda dumb in these technologies. However, those who get the hints here and wish to present me new phone or laptop on my birthday are welcomed.. =3=

Not The First Post
In fact, those are not so "important" reasons for me to create a blog. I found that my english is deteriorating each day (well, i dun think my english is good before).. Sigh, what to do? I can hardly get the chance to speak or write in this language.. My vocab and grammar are equally weak.. Don't believe?? Below are parts of the conversation between I and my buddy, caryn.
" We stayed in a doom during the camp."
"I got to go to HUKM to pass some stuffs back to my menthol."
She laughed till rolling on the floor after reading it..... ==
Recall back when i was form 3,
My English teacher asked me to read the synopsis of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde" loudly,
"Mr. Hyde is evil and cruel."
I mistakenly pronounced ee-vil as a-vil... (i thought e-ver and e-vil are the same)
Whole class laughed and even the teacher recommended me to go singapore to replace Phua Chu Kang as my slang was funnier than him... I felt like wanna find a hole and hide... It was so embarrassing....
Form 5, during the English Oral Test,
we were asked to form a group and talked among the group member in front of the examiner and the class..
I started the conversation by,
"Hello, long time no see everybody!"
Whole class laughed again and at first, I did not know why they were laughing and i thought they were giving support to me.. Later only i found out that "long time no see" is not a proper English phase (sorry, it is phrase, you see i got wrong again. thx jino) ... Swt..Swt...
Hopefully my English can be improved by blogging and if you are kind enough, please pray for me that i will be persevered enough to update this blog... and sorry for my "ciplak" English written here... =)
